This collaboration between Jamie, Jan and the landscape of the water’s edge is an exploration of transitional time – between body and spirit, dreams and waking, and land and sea. We will explore a somatic-expressive connection with the elements of nature in the beautiful setting of Sea Ranch, 2.5 hours north of San Francisco on the stunning Mendocino coast. The retreat is an introduction to - or refresher for - somatic awareness, inner journey process (utilizing the tradition of shamanic journeying), expressive ritual and eco-therapy practice.

Turning with the seasonal wheel between the stillness of Winter and the movement of Spring’s promised growth, we will renew and rediscover the landscapes within and without. Through somatic meditations and nature-based activities each day, we witness new life arising in creative impulses and inspirations to guide us back home to ourselves, and sustain our daily life.

Jan Edl Stein, MFT is a psychotherapist in private practice in San Francisco and Marin, California. Jan is also the director of Holos Institute, a counseling center based upon principles of eco-psychology in San Francisco. She has a deep interest in the healing power of conscious connection to nature, earth based wisdom traditions and spiritual practice. For over 24 years she has maintained has a private practice which includes clinical supervision, individual and couples psychotherapy well as consultation in earth-based wisdom traditions.

Fees include 3 nights lodging, all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday lunch, and tuition. Meals are primarily organic with vegetarian options. Specific dietary needs must be communicated upon registering so we can plan accordingly. We can generally accommodate gluten/dairy free diets. Fees are specific to accommodation choice, with room assignments on a first come- first served basis. Accommodations at Sea Ranch are simple but comfortable, with access to a community outdoor heated pool and saunas, hiking trails and beaches.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: For cancellations received before January 15, the deposit or any other fees received minus a $100 processing fee will be refunded.

For cancellations after January 15, any fees paid will be refunded - minus a $100 processing fee - only if your space can be filled. This retreat is limited to 16 participants. After 16 people register, we put the names of additional people on a wait list. If you cancel and we are able to fill your spot, we will refund your fees (deposit or full payment - minus a $100 processing fee). However, if we are unable to fill your spot, your fees are non-refundable.
