"The great sea has sent me adrift; "Whenever we touch nature we get clean. People who have got dirty through too much civilization take a walk in the woods, or a bath in the sea. Entering the unconscious, entering yourself through dreams, is touching nature from the inside and this is the same thing, things are put right again." - CG Jung |
Connecting the Inner and Outer Landscapes POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19; PLEASE CONTACT US FOR 2021 DATES
This 2-day workshop is composed of studio time and environmental time, with the intention of immersing ourselves in our bodies to explore our connection with life beyond our own skin. We begin in the studio by investigating a textured collection of breath and sound practices - from meditative/inner sound to expressive/outer sound – to expand our range of movement possibility. This breath-focused orientation slows time down, activates more perceptual awareness, and primes us to engage with the larger body of life. By emptying the mind to fill the senses, we are more available for creative interactions with tree, sky, ground, and stone. We connect with the natural environment by using the five-part map of relationship: contact, mirror, respond, witness and rest. These sensorimotor journeys within and without create a rhythm of enlivened expression and personal reflection, and offer an opportunity to nurture our nature with grace and ease. All levels of experience welcome.
